Location Stanford University and Virtual

The Energy Efficiency Scaling for Two Decades (EES2) Initiative is excited to welcome you on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the CoDa Simonyi Conference Center, Stanford University, for a day dedicated to solving one of the biggest challenges in computing — how to power the AI era without an unmanageable energy bill.

This year's program features direct engagement from the federal science leadership alongside the researchers and executives building next-generation energy-efficient computing:

Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, joins us for a live fireside chat on the federal vision for energy-efficient computing.

Dr. Darío Gil, Under Secretary for Science at the U.S. Department of Energy, and DOE Genesis Mission Director, delivers a keynote on the national strategy shaping this work.

They'll be joined by leaders driving innovation across the computing stack, from organizations including:

  • AMD
  • Argonne National Laboratory
  • Arm
  • GlobalFoundries
  • Metis Microsystems
  • Micron
  • Mubadala Capital
  • Sandia National Laboratories
  • Snowcap Compute
  • SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
  • Stanford University

Across the day, you'll hear from technical leaders from our pledging organizations as they unpack the roadmap for dramatically more efficient compute.

Plus, live pledge signings from organizations joining the EES2 Initiative, bringing our roster to 100 pledgers, including Mubadala Capital, PDF Solutions, Georgia Institute of Technology, Alliance to Save Energy, Carnegie Mellon University, Kepler Computing, Stanford University and more!

Why attend:

  • Hear about energy policy priorities straight from the source
  • Get an inside look at the technical roadmap to the next 1000X compute efficiency gains
  • Connect with the industry, national lab, and academic leaders shaping this space
  • Be part of a growing coalition — new EES2 Initiative members will pledge live on stage
